About the Institution
Indira Educational and Charitable Trust (IECT) was established in the year 2007 by Mr. V.G. Raajendran, B.E., MLA, with the primary objective of providing quality education in the field of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.
The trust operates a 900 bedded Indira Medical College & Hospital at Pandur, Tiruvallur District, offering comprehensive healthcare services and serving as an excellent training ground for medical and allied health science students.
Indira College of Allied Health Sciences (ICAHS) was established to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical clinical exposure. The college is committed to producing competent allied health professionals who can contribute effectively to the healthcare delivery system.
Located at Pandur, Tiruvallur District, the institution benefits from state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern laboratories, experienced faculty, and extensive clinical training facilities provided by the attached 900-bed multi-specialty hospital.

As I walk through the corridors of our college, I hear the sounds of eager minds chatting and discussing, sounds of feet walking energetically, and faculty responding enthusiastically to the students. The college defines the epitome of excellence in rendering the highest quality nursing education through energizing thoughts, creativity, innovation, and optimistic perspective rooting moral and ethical values for the students. We strongly believe that the purpose of learning should be based on doing things effectively rather than merely knowing them. Apart from imparting knowledge and humanitarian values, we also provide scope for extra-curricular activities to strike a balance and widen the perspectives of our students. Our well experienced and motivated faculty provide excellent classroom training along with personal mentoring for each and every student.

Her interests and business ventures span Education, Media, Philanthropy and Politics, making her a ‘multi-passionate’ entrepreneur. She joyfully embraces her ideals, understands her goals, and takes consistent action toward achieving each one. Vasanthamani, MD, DGO, MNAMS, MBA, as the Dean of our Indira Medical College and Hospital, under whose guidance and leadership, the college has reached its zenith in the District, boasting its accessible services and multiple triumphs in the medical arena and upholding human concern to the brim.
- Madam has another feather in her cap as an awardee of Best Performance award 2018 in the Department of Health and Family Welfare of Tamil Nadu. During her administration span at Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, she also has received an Award for best Biometrical Centre for the year 2018.
- Adding further laurels, She received the Best doctor award from the Economic Times (2022), Rotary Club of Chennai port city (2022) and Chennai North (2021).
- Her high level administrative posts also encompasses being the Member Secretary / Convener of High Level Committee to study impact of NEET by Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
- She served in various posts in the medical fields be it the Dean of Govt. Villupuram Medical College and Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, and the prestigious post of Additional Director of Medical Education/ Secretary Selection Committee and as well as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Stanley, Chengalpet and Dharmapuri Medical Colleges belonging to the Government of Tamil Nadu.
- During Madam Tenure as Dean of Govt. Villupuram and Kilpauk Medical College, she improved the infrastructure and facilities in all departments to the greater heights.
- Under the regime of our able administrator Dr. P. Vasanthamani as a Dean, Indira Medical College and Hospital will certainly achieve its pinnacle as one of the paramount institution of this country.
